Are You Really A Pirate, That Eye Patch Does No Justice Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Are You Really A Pirate, That Eye Patch Does No Justice

A trove of treasure, lightly shimmers in unison.
The weight of each other grants comfort.
If you listen close enough, you'll hear just what they say. Two words that fill the space between them.
A constant echo, as they have no way to hear.
They've been in the dark for so long that they've become blind.
The coins that lay scattered in a worn wooden box.
Two words, felt the groove between them. Without a mouth they clanked together. Adjustments made after tilts and shifts made by the box.
Knocking together in Morse code.
'Love me' as the darkness that surrounds is ever growing.
With you by my side, I have no reason to fear the dark.

It is only because of the dark that we know what the light is. Light pushes and dark pulls. Never ending day sounds just as unappealing as never ending night does it not? Always by your side.
