Are You? Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Are You?

Rating: 5.0

I have not gone away...
Because my closets are bare!
The only thing that this change brings,
Is a freshness to stale air!
I had to clear away the dust,
And collected thoughts that sat!
I needed to show you more of me...
And the crampness did not allow that!
I have to add a growth that comes.
With a purpose that brightens like the Sun.
I'm saying this now so we both understand...
You're not getting rid of me,
I don't see how you can!
Unless 'you're' making untold plans?
Are you?

Oh..we need space we say to see who we really are..why is that i often wonder..your poem makes me think of afew lines from a Bob Dylan song (I am a hopeless Dylan fan! !) 'I been to Babylon I gotta confess I can still hear that voice crying in the wilderness What looks large from a distance, close up is never that big' Bob Dylan Another excellent poem from you! Pia
