As Evening Falls Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

As Evening Falls

As evening falls on garden sweet,
When birds return to nests so neat,
I feel the silence deep within,
This is my world my everything.

As sun sets over mountain high,
I look towards the evening sky,
To think of you with heart still torn,
Remembering those days once more.

Longing for the midnight hour,
When i can dream of fragrant flowers,
A special bunch just picked for you,
That special place, with sky so blue.

I miss you more and more each day,
Why did you have to go away?
We'll meet again on heaven's gate,
Where i will stand and gladly wait.
