As The Symphony Plays - Poem by Jeannie Anglin

as the symphony plays
the young girl prays
for a love she’s never known
for a love she’s never shown

a life without love
is not heaven above
it’s an earthly hell
one that she’s destined to dwell

someplace she’s never been
someplace where she has no kin
no one to stop what she feels
a chance to let her heart heal

true love she once had
until the one night she was bad
now it’s gone and there’s no turning back
for causing pain she’s got a knack

it’s her destiny
her chance to be free
without love’s pain
she has everything to gain
