Aspirations Doomed. Poem by Nabakishore Dash

Aspirations Doomed.

Aspirations Doomed.

Bodies soft, minds tender,
Innocency ruled every sphere.

Study mood and learning looks,
With bags, notes and text books.

Missiles, drones dashed the school,
Like a bolt from the blue.

Protruding organs, exuding blood
Clean uniforms, suddenly stained.

No route to escape, wriggle out,
Death sure, heart-rending shouts.

Lives gone, aspirations doomed,
Buds detached, could not bloom.

Mother, father lost their scions,
Agony and grief filled emotion.

Nation stripped off future citizens,
How to protect a sovereign nation?

Infrastructures , economic zones.
Decimated fully by infernal actions.

Parents of martyrs are in deep pain.
Wives wait for husband's return.

Children anxious for soldier fathers,
What a hellish life brings the wars!

Those who give war orders
are under tight security covers.

Their children's security is well
assured.
Their happiness is fully ensured.

Excruciating pain of parturition,
can only be felt by that woman.

Who has undergone normal labour,
never be experienced by any other.

condition of the parents is very similar.
Those who sent their wards for war.

Unbridled desires of heads of nations.
Are responsible for financial and
emotional situations.

Massive loss of life and property.
Wars hinder nation's prosperity.
