At The Movies Poem by Eddie Roa

At The Movies

Rating: 5.0

The world of the silver screen is
In high definition and Dolby sound

All the drama, the horror
and the music are played, replayed

right before you without the peril,
all the notes of the symphony

without the back seat chatter
Flawless nymphs in natural glory

Traipsing and screaming on celluloid fantasy
Bigger than life and in megapixel colors

Reality is just a bag of popcorn
Spilling at each thrill and delight

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Wonderful writing. Movies are an escape and were attended particularly in the 2nd war and depression years when reality was just too vivid for people to face. Movies are the ultimate in creative expression. They involve writing, music, cinematography and technology. My son is a documentary maker and I am lucky enough to be the first person to see his finished article and to drawn into to the whole creative process. Top marks for your perceptions. Karin Anderson

In these difficult times in which we live, it might be very soothing to believe that 'reality is a bag of popcorn'. If only for a little while. Captivating write. Kindest regards, Sandra

Movies have come a long way since the silent screen. There's just a hint of what's playing but it's a good glimpse of that special time looking at the screen.
