Beymorlin Sonnet (Every Sonnet)
The defining features of the Beymorlin Sonnet are:
• written in a quatorzain made up of 3 quatrains and a couplet.
• metered, primarily iambic pentameter.
• double rhymed, rhyme scheme abab cdcd efef ggwith a separate internal rhyme in the same pattern as the end rhyme. The internal rhyme should occur within the first two syllables of each line.
• composed with the epiphany arriving slowly after the 2nd quatrain.
• Understanding Iambic Pentameter (Your Dictionary)
• When we speak, our syllables are either stressed (stronger emphasis)or unstressed (weaker emphasis) . For example, the word remark consists of two syllables. "Re" is the unstressed syllable, with a weaker emphasis, while "mark" is stressed, with a stronger emphasis.
• In poetry, a group of two or three syllables is referred to as a foot. A specific type of foot is an iamb. A foot is an iamb if it consists of one unstressed syllable followed by a stressed syllable, so the word remark is an iamb.
• Pent means five, so a line of iambic pentameter consists of five iambs - five sets of unstressed syllables followed by stressed syllables.
Aung San Sui Kyi, ah! Has been free from house arrest
She did not throw childish tantrums but said, Bah! I believe in the Burmese best
She faced animosity and adversity
And same out of it in beauty for she stood steadfast to her principles and that was her bounty;

Aung San Sui Kyi won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1991 for her country and became, in 2016, a state counsellor
She did her high school in India and was desultory doing her undergraduate degree in Oxford until she met the man who became her darling
She married Michael Aris, a symbolic blue-violet comfrey, who like the flower, has herbal colour
For he was a diplomat and together, they lived a love story before the dreary military made her pay for planning her strategic Burmese political darning;

Her father, Aung San, founded the modern Burmese army and freed Burma from the British empire in 1947 and soon after, was his end
Aung San Sui Kyi speaks four languages, Burmese, English, French, Japanese with relative fluency
She is eager to get Myanmar ahead and a helping hand, she extends
To most people except for the Rohingya refugees but she does not flench the people and has not, by large, corrected her failure to condemn and stop atrocities against the same people which in the world's eyes, is a fallacy;

She is nevertheless, a tireless leader, who is the guardian angel of her people, with a matching "flitting" gait
But despite her large number of positive traits, The Guardian (intl. edition)reported that Australian lawyers seek prosecution against her for crimes against humanity and this deplorable act has made her less great.

Part 2 The basic guiding principle of Indian/ Vedic philosophy is compassion. Trena tyaktena bhunjheedha, it is said in the Vedas. The famous Christian philosophy Love Thy Neighbour has its roots in the Vedas, it is said. The present government has betrayed all this, and still speak of Hinduism. Bigotry to the core! Thank you for the poem.

Hi Gayathri Aung San Sui Kyi has belied the confidence reposed on her by the humanity and international community. We have been betrayed by her new found comfort in power. I might even say, she has betrayed the name of the great person Aung SAN, her father. It is true that I, as an Indian, have lesser right to blame Sui Kyi, as The present Government of India has refused the Rohingya Muslims the status of Refugees. Contd...
