Autumn Camping In Algonquian Park Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Autumn Camping In Algonquian Park

Rating: 3.7

On a cool, early autumn afternoon
We watched the breeze float through the trees
The vivid colours of red and orange
Started to reveal themselves brightly in the sun
The smoke from the fire where we gathered
For warmth was getting into my eyes
But the scent of the meal being cooked made it
All worthwhile
As the sun fell into the trees,
We continue to watch the flames
The night became coldas we crawled
Into the sleeping bag for two
You put yr arm around me
And softly kissed me good night
As I closed my eyes, I wasn't afraid

I'm not familiar with that park, but have been to others in Canada such as Jasper and Waterton Lakes. Both are very beautiful, and your poem makes me want to go back!
