As the amber glow
Of the autumn sun
Begins to diminish,
Shadows are cast
Upon stately trees
Whose colorful leaves
Caught by the breeze
Begin to drop
Swirling slowly
Drifting
Down
Down
Becoming brittle
And brown -
Crushed into dust,
They remind us
Of the fragility
Of life
