Autumnal Sundays Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Autumnal Sundays

Rating: 5.0

Maybe we can go to the park
And watch the people do what they do
Or we can stare at the autumn leaves
Falling as we get fed up with raking
Go for a ride to the Harvest fair
And win a prize for an apple pie
Or we can stay home and read poetry to each other
Saying the silliest lines ever
Or watch the History Channel
On conspiracy theories of JFK
Then take a nap in each other's arms
Discussing current events
Then order a pizza to share
And let the world drift away
at least, on Sundays
