Avoid Diverse Pollution - Poem For Earth Day

The Vibrancy of the Wind
yells to me
breathe, inhale, exhale
set your lungs pollution-free;
the frequency of the rain and thunder
upon the earth cast it's magic
and says grow, get green
eat healthy, eat fruits
be vegetarian as much as you can be;
the tendency of animals and birds
wanting to be integrated with human beings
as they co-exist with nature
a reality, a truth, a need, a necessity they feel;
every tree, every grass stalk speaks
every crop, every leaf
upon my plate of food sits
onions and potatoes
red tomatoes and purple eggplants
orange carrots and yellow bananas
a colorful world of fruits and vegetables;
smoke and soot upon the streets fill
as vehicles keep moving with exhaust gases
and from factories release effluents;
air pollution, water pollution unite
to deplete good health,
suffocation, weak lungs, pacemakers galore
as out and in, I struggle to respire.
Many species under the oceans
in the skies above
on the surface of the earth
along with humanity struggle to survive;
I plant one tree
every monsoon
it dies the next summer
just as one neighbor dies every year;
humanity struggles to survive
when truth itself reveals
the earth is ours
until we live
but sustainability has it's own instructions
as you live on this earth
amidst all obstacles, it advises you
to eat, breathe and drink
with purity, without impurity
as all is within the palms of your own hands
to choose what your world must be.
