Those young men so anxious to reach there
some to workplaces, some to homes travel
everyday, anytime just to make two ends meet;
and as they keep rushing in that frenzy of life
to catch opportunities or to keep their promises
some never make it to the place they have to go
as on those roads they surrender their lives
to helpless fate as in accidents they succumb;
they have forgotten their estimation of time
they have forgotten their intention of care
they have forgotten their aspect of safety
as in the action to reach that point on time
they jump caution and delay makes them rush;
sadly those sons who want to make proud
their fathers and brothers, wives and children
suddenly on the road encounter fatality
and in that road accident they die or get injured
so unexpectedly as they never anticipate
that they will never come home alive again
that they will never come home without injury
when another negligent driver knocks them down
and onto the hospital bed or into the morgue
they are forced to silently surrender to pain
which God has not written for them
but the mistakes of men seal a fate
so unpredictable, so unbearable, so unavoidable
that is one life lost everyday worth the sacrifice
of rushing to work, or rushing to school
or rushing for better prospects that turn to worse
all for the negligence and dangerous drivers on the road
who never imagine or evaluate the harm they cause
which otherwise by safe, slow and calm driving
can be prevented rather than by temptation of speed.
