Awaken From A Dream - Poem by David Callaway

Eyes open in the dark, I reach out for her, She's not here, it was there.
Quickly, I try to go back, hoping to hear her voice, feel her touch, just one more time.
I can't get back, the day must begin. Thoughts and messages, make the days brighter and full of hope.
A dream within a dream. Heart tears. The real day begins. Anhedonic.
Thoughts and messages, not a dream, yet it is.
Caring, compassion, serenity, support, encouragement, enlightenment.....love?
Night comes, eyes close, we're here.
