Away From My Reach
Were you really in that much of a hurry
To leave me so alone,
So unkind and rude you could be
Deserting all our dreams and love aside?
Love could be so brutal and harsh
Now I feel the brunt of it.
Nowadays you appear only in the dead of night
In my dreams with your dazzling grace,
Keeping yourself at a safe distance
Far away from my reach.
Do you really hide your urge for love
By compromising with teardrops?
Do you mask your pain and strife
Deep inside your bleeding heart?
Okay my dear, if you’re so reluctant at all
And believe in keeping the secrets within you.
Then can you spare some moments only
To give a pause to my sense of missing you.
At least you listen to me, what I may confess you.
O’ my loving mysterious Lady –
I still beckon you
And remain always by your side
Like a shadow I am stuck with you.
Keeping you within the core my heart
I now live dreaming only of you.
Just hold on for another moment only
To see you afresh and say Hello
After cleaning the opacity
Of my two poor tear-filled eyes!
You may leave me so early in a hurry
But I’m still dying for you
Love you and still hold you firmly within my arms
Though it may be imaginary nowadays! !

True. Love is deep inside. That is true love. You expressed it with all the feelings blended in the poem.
From the title I could guess the content! But on reading it, I got touched more by the sincerity of feeling and the free flow of emotions than by its poignancy! O’ my loving mysterious Lady – I still beckon you And remain always by your side Like a shadow I am stuck with you......... Love such as this never dies even when the beloved is departed. The intense longing and desire to be with loved one envelops so fully as to be felt in dreams and expressed in poetic form. Beautiful poem Amitav! Thanks for sharing.
