Baby. Poem by Kelli Richards

Baby.

I knew it was wrong but I did it anyway,
And I know I made a mistake.
Now i get sick every morning
And my heart and body aches.

How will I tell my parents,
What will they make me do?
Now the baby has to suffer,
Because I really don't love you.

Its whats best for the baby,
And I no longer have a choice.
I go to the highschool and talk to the teens,
Because I can speak, I have a voice.

Because I wasn't careful,
I have to deal with the pain.
Supporting a new member of the family
And not counting all the wait I have to gain.

Be careful when out with a man,
Or at least use protection.
You have to at least know what you can handle,
Life is not just about love and affection.

There will be a time when you are ready,
And you'll know when its your time.
And you'll have to make the choice
Even though I didn't chose mine.

A baby changes everything,
It will consume every minute of your life.
And if you can't support it,
It will cause your parents great strife.

So make sure it's right,
And he's the right one.
Becaus I wasn't and now,
the one who suffers is my son.
