Big Sister. Poem by Kelli Richards

Big Sister.

I'm supposed to be his big sister,
But i always seem to miss the mark.
I keep secrets for my brother,
And leave everyone in the dark.

I need to be someone that he can look up to,
He deserves a better life.
He needs laughter and love,
He needs no more strife.

i'm supposed to be his big sister,
So why can't I be?
Even though he won't admit it,
He really needs me.

All of the other women in his life,
have done drugs and lied.
But I have been there through
All the tears he's cried.

I'm supposed to be his big sister,
So I'm going to stop acting this way.
I need my life to change.
And its gunna start today.

No more late night outings,
No more getting high.
I'm not going to sit back and
watch my little brothers life pass him by.
