Ball Lightning Poem by Ima Ryma

Ball Lightning

Ball lightning - is it real or not?
Some inquiring minds want to know.
It has not been observed a lot.
Reported sightings come and go.
Most often during thunderstorms,
A softball size bright glowing sphere
From nowhere just suddenly forms.
Seconds later to disappear,
Leaving a burning sulfur smell.
Of course religious zealots say
It is the devil come from hell.
Maybe we'll know for sure one day.

Mysterious phenomenon,
Ball lightning - what does turn it on?

It is real. I saw an 8 inch diameter one and an 18 inch diameter one. They came down a wash after a bolt (each time) in the mountain above the wash.
