Batman And Robin Poem by Malabika Ray Choudhury

Batman and Robin, two valiant heroes they love,
Our two little boys - they are never-ending fun!

The two little boys, cute as cute can be,
The elder one is gentle as an angel, the little one is cheeky!

What is Batman doing today?  I ask as I say hello,
The little one answers nonchalantly -
destroying the evils as usual, what he has to!

Heroes never sleep, that's the message on their PJ,
(They try to follow that motto!)
But heroes never smile - I don't think that works for them.

On a Sunday morning, before anyone is up,
Who do you see on the couch?
That's the gentlest boy, the elder one,
holding his favourite book!

All those Star War characters - Darth Vader and Darth Maul,
Skywalker and Yoda,
I am totally clueless,
They calmly teach me hundred times,
They never lose their patience!

Mom teaches them letters and numbers,  Dad teaches them measurement,
Who is taller - Batman or Superman?  That's the problem they get!

Aunts get them colours and paints, Tintin books and puzzles,
Grandmas start playing soccer,  Grandpas learn cooking tasty food!

Most favourite Carrot soup was a little spicy the other day,
The elder one was a little grumpy!  Chose Fish and Asparagus instead.

The little one wouldn't miss anyway though,
tears running down the cheek, gulped a bowl or two!

Absolute joy!  There is no other word to describe the feeling!
Our Batman and Our Robin,
That's what they will always be!

They are growing so fast!  I want to hold them as tight as I can.
These tender years are as priceless as can be,
Unparalleled delight, infinite joy of a lifetime!
