Battle At South Of The City (Five Lü) Poem by Luo Zhihai

Battle At South Of The City (Five Lü)

★ Battle at South of the City (Five Lü)

☆ Poetry by Yang Jiong (650-? , Tang Dynasty, China)
☆ Translation by Luo Zhihai (1954-, China)

The road to Northern Frontier far away
Battle at South of the City raged
Banner flags like bird wings
Armors like fish scales
Horses were frostbitten by the frozen water
Grief wind killed soldiers
Feelings can understand the bright sun
One thousand miles in dark the yellow dust

◆ Chinese Text

★ 战城南(五律)

☆ 杨炯 诗

塞北途辽远
城南战苦辛
幡旗如鸟翼
甲胄似鱼鳞
冻水寒伤马
悲风愁杀人
寸心明白日
千里暗黄尘
