Battle Worn Are The Faces Of War Poem by Ronald Strickland

Battle Worn Are The Faces Of War

It's not the age I see on so many that are battle-worn.
Instead, I see battles that passed
but still go on on these faces.

Faces with stories that may never be told
but recalled in their thoughts.

A look in the distance
that memories won't erase.
Faces of war that have gone, but go on.

To know these veterans of war in their faces,
one can see their war goes on,
the mind doesn't let go,
and faces show
that the fight they battle can never let it go.
