Being Poem by Theodora (Theo) Onken

Being

Rating: 5.0

The day arrived without much pomp or circumstance
....With clouds curling and dipping 'cross the heavens
While the sun raised her gentle arms in greeting - with warmth
......The river below flowed in a perfect rhythm
......And it's sound was such a comforting anodyne
....'Twas absolute music to the denizens ears
The tree's - graceful leaves swayed in anticipation- -
......Moved by the gentle southern breeze
....................The deer were grazing
....................The squirrels were playing
....................The raccoons were dancing
....................The rabbits were romancing
And the birds, yes, the birds were feathering- -
......While fragrances emulated through the summering air
......With hints of Jasmine & Honey Suckle- -
......Such a marvelous ambience - created this day
....As upon yet another STAGE of our life- -
......Where living and breathing and giving thanks
....................Are as they should forever be
....................Grateful for waking up
....................Alive for yet another day
........................'To Simply Be'

Gorgeous! Absolutely gorgeous! ! It's Wish-I'd- Written-It gorgeous! ! ! It is such a huge blessing to wake up to this world God has created for each and every one to enjoy to the height and depth of our souls. Which verse is the one that rang my chimes the most? All of them. Which image lingers the most? All of them. For innovative use of a word- -I would pick this one: And the birds, yes, the birds were feathering- - That is pure jewel-writing! Thank you for blessing my day with this! 10+++++++++++++++++++++ and a spot on my fav list

Susan! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Good Lord...had no idea you had been on to read and comment! Please excuse my careless ignorance! Your praise always raises my spirits - most especially when they need a lift. Really do have an excuse for not getting on here more though...it has to do with family and health. Anyway, thank you dear one! You are a pure gem - your writing shines like diamonds and your reviews are like 24 Karat Gold! ! ! ! ! ! Hugs! ! ! ! !
