I'Ll Be Here - Poem by Theodora (Theo) Onken

For everything you are
For everything you have been
For making my life whole
For awakening life in me again
For being that ray of hope
For giving me faith to carry on
For giving me the courage to fight
Thank you my beloved son!

The poem, seemingly a simple one, expressing the love of a mother to her son. But it has the emotional make-up so deep, only a parent can understand. It is the presence of a son or daughter in our life, that would make our life wholesome, meaningful. It is his/her love for you, caring for you and a few words a day in our ears that make the world livable; life worth living. That add colors to one's life. Very Sombre and philosophical poem, that provokes thoughts on the very meaning of life, instills a lot of positive energy on the reader to ponder on and on. Great write. Loved reading, as I too have a lovely daughter who cares so much for me and her mother. Do continue to write and share.10++ (Report)Reply

What a loving tribute to your son- you opened a window onto the blessing God bestows on us with the gift of children. With this piece you show us how poetry is written. We thank you. (Report)Reply
