Bereft: An Assumption (Etheree) Poem by Seamus O' Brian

Bereft: An Assumption (Etheree)

Rating: 5.0

i
wander
in the mist
of the gardens
caught between time and
eternity. Asking
Which path caught your eye, stole your
Heart, when you wandered from my side;
left me wondering if I ever
knew where the horizon of your heart lay.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
(An Etheree is a 10 line, non-rhyming poem which starts with a single syllable, and each subsequent line is 1 syllable longer)

Sometimes the journey of a poem seems to come from within itself. I began this exercise with the single letter 'I' not really knowing which direction it would take. Apparently my love of hiking chose to mingle with the image of lost companionship and determine the horizon of this piece.

A wonderful write. I really like this style of writing. Etheree has really caught my fancy. I'm gonna try it. An excellent depiction of love n loss. A huge 10.
