Bidding Farewell Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Bidding Farewell

Rating: 4.8

I couldn’t stop my tears,
Cheeks swollen and wet wears,
Stared at the pale face,
Dumb founded as if lost the race?

We had good week end,
Happy time pass and signals send,
Nothing went wrong previous night,
Good happy day without any fight,

She always stood for things right,
Worked so hard even without light,
Offered no resistance but simple fight,
Managed well when situation was tight,

She asked for nothing extra,
Never discussed or hold views contra,
Believed in adherence and total submission,
Forgave slight errors and offered straight admission,

Such noble soul is no more and gone,
What I had in mind and exactly done?
Could do nothing special or any more,
She was there without hesitation to adore,

In friction of seconds she became past,
Happy moments and joy did not long last,
I looked at the sky and prayed God,
Asked for mercy and shook the head in nod,

Her lovely association will keep us alive,
Her words may keep us strong and survive,
We will not die her spirit and revive,
Not for our sake but for her work we live,

She will be taken to last abode,
On funeral pyre she will be rode,
No one can read her face without code,
A code of love, journey on different mode,

Neither will I shed tears and cry,
Nor ask a question as to why?
May be HE decided her destiny?
I had no reason to rise and go for mutiny.

It is glorious path and we have to travel,
Excel in life and do work marvel,
Everything to leave and nothing along,
Whether done with means right or wrong,

This is a touching poem about the narrator's deceased wife. She was highly devoted and diligent. She handled tough situations with poise and decorum. He laments her passing, but at last surrenders to the Almighty. Thank you, sir. Again, some grammatical errors and awkward rhythms occasionally, but nice on the whole.

When someone always stood for the right, you always admire them. and when they die you ask why. Good poem.

It seems rhyme comes easy to you but I know how difficult it is. Your mastery of teh English language is commendable.
