you will find it mentioned in 'IUCN Red data list'.
Just one hundred and fifty of the GIBs are left alive

Ever so beautiful to bring to everyone's attention how these precious birds are now endangered! ..
It is a pity that this beautiful bird is on the verge of extinction. Thank You, dear poet.

My dear poet-friends, all those who love birds and their lives, may I invite all of you to read my poem " A Home For Daphne", a series in five parts? Thank You.
Bustard is a large, terrestrial birds living mainly in dry grassland areas and on the steppes of the Old World. They range in length from 40 to 150 cm. They make up the family Otididae. Nice the Indian name; nice to read the poem
Thank You, dear poet for delving more into the details of GIB
Beautiful message to protect GIB and wildlife....It is of great importance for ecology and sustainability... Well done...With best wishes for Diwali.
Thank You, Pallab for reading this poem and favouring me with the nice words. And we wish a Happy Deepawali too. Thank You
That is why I was tempted to name this poem an elegy to the Earth…
But, man will not. He can not survive increase in global temperatures, depletion in green cover. Decrease in water and oxygen contents in the atmosphere. And above all, where will his food come from?
May I answer Bri. Earth may survive even if the entire plants and trees (that convert CO2 back to oxygen) are extinct. And some flora and fauna may adapt to the de-oxygenated situation. They could evolve from the anaerobic bacteria, who knows?
It's a well-written 'poem'. I appreciated the 'notes' and the great photo. bri ;)
Thank You, Bri. Your notes add immense value to my poem
I've seen Snowy owl (2 or 3 times) very near human habitations in Rochester, New York, USA, In the late 1980s? , probably in Winter. bri
According to the site Animals Around The World, as of July 2022, the10 most endangered birds in the world are Kiwi Kakapo Snowy Owl Fruit Dove California Condor Hooded Grebe Northern Bald Ibis Regent Honeyeater African Grey parrot Great Currasow.
Thank You, Bri, for taking time to post such a lot of comments. I appreciate. On the other hand, my answer to your notes is just what I have written on the note of Geeta. How long?
Hundreds of species of plants and fauna are on the verge of extinction, mostly due to the intervention by man. I am a person who believes that every specie, for that matter, even a piece of stone or grain of sand has its role in maintaining the balance of Nature.
PH using the word is 'illegal' is bullshit. Let's see if THAT gets by the censors. : )))))) But PH is STILL free. Thanks PH. bri : )
I had to delete the dollar sign so the.76 price message would be accepted by PH censors who said 'illegal words' I think.
GIB? Is THAT what my mom used to buy at the butcher shop in New York State on special occasions? The sign would say: 'Special, Today ONLY: GIB thighs, .78/pound'
And earth will survive, even if a few species disappeared, and temperatures rise and oxygen gets depleted. Even if the entire plants and trees are extinct, earth may.
Earth has survived without lots of creatures which once swam, crawled, walked, ran, and/or flew. I 'love' birds, esp, in the wild. I eat fowl.
A good write on Great Indian Bustard..........Informative......lovely picture too......10
GIB is on the verge of being extinct. As Bri says, Earth has survived even after many plants and animals disappeared. But, how long will it? Global warming and climate change are realities. Each specie that disappear, hastens these impending calamities
We human beings are at the root of imbalances in nature.None other than man is the culprit. Great write.
Man is not an essential part in the natural food chain, nor has he any role in maintaining its balance. Actually, nature retains its balance in spite of him. The earlier he discerns this fact, the better.
Thank You Dillipji for appreciating my effort to highlight the case. Obliged
Thank you for spreading awareness. Human intervention can be cruel or supportive of flora & fauna, there is choice in behaviour
