Birth Of A Poem Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Birth Of A Poem

Rating: 5.0

If prior to
A poem I write
The paper is all blank,
Spotless white,
A spark comes as if from nowhere
Amidst utter blight,
From fairly faint flashes
There shines in mind bright light,
Founts up from mist as if
A mount's true height!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The birth of a poem is like birth of our universe. There was nothing before, except silent chaos, sheer potentiality. And suddenly there was a flash we call Big Bang. Rig Veda has a verse depicting this phenomenon.

Probably our mind may be totally blank when we sit down to write. The paper before us also will be blank. But soon a flash of a thought comes. Then newer thoughts come in endless succession and fall in the paper line on line. Thus a poem is born.....! It is the moment of creation. As the universe was born out of chaos and emptiness, here also a birth takes place. Beautiful poem! A 10

I fully agree dear poet, that is how some poems get born as this poem says. These day however I've no compulsion to write one, no deadline to catch, The poem's idea, a little germ, has been conceived, but I'm not sure how to say it, how to put it the the scheme of things, I write something and then stare at the paper. Of course there are many approaches, but the struggle of birth is there. Thank you for adding value to the poem.

Indeed, Sir, as if God is appearing and we can see The Light shining very bright everywhere. You captured the poem so well. Associating me with the painting of Boticelli The Birth Of Venus. True mesmerizing this poem and that painting. I valued both original, Aniruddha Sir. Thank you for sharing.
