Black For A Day Poem by ANDREW BLAKEMORE

Black For A Day

Rating: 5.0

Everyone needs to be black for a day
To hear all the insults that white people say,
And to learn of the hardships and problems they face
The world then would be a much friendlier place.

Everyone needs to be black for a day
To know what they go through and price that they pay,
To see how they suffer, to see their despair
To see how life treats them for it's so unfair.

Everyone needs to be black for a day
And to live in a ghetto of damp and decay,
Forgotten, unwanted and branded with blame
And to learn underneath that we are all the same.
