Blackout Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Blackout

Alas,
The night has fallen.
Revealing the stars that shine so bright.
If at all possible.
I'd flip the switch to cut them all off.
A loud click would occur.
Then one by one, their light would lower in density.
Finally going out.
I'd cut them off
So I could replace them with your eyes,
For all to see.
Those precious jewels that shine like diamonds.
They'd shine in every direction.
Replacing the moon in stature.
Those glorious eyes,
Luminating a world of thought.
No longer hid behind your eyes.
The stars would grow envious
as telescopes would stare in awe.
Spreading their spectrum of light.
Your eyes
