One of the many things
Which brings me sadness
In my day to day
Estate Sales
Usually a widow
Who has outlived her husband
Gone - so many years
Going through different rooms
Where treasures are found,
All tagged and priced.
The Blue Dipsty Dumpster
Next to the house,
Where Cherished Treasures
Are thrown away.
I just reviewed a poem by my good friend Michael Walker titled - The House On The Corner - It reminds me that once we leave, our treasures are soon cast aside, empty house, empty rooms.
(cont.) probably most of the treasures were purchases Granny made at Garage Sales! estate sales? i once picked up (CHEAP) a little-used granddaughter (age about 32) at one of those. was the DD blue as in painted, or as in sad? ? bri :)
dipsty dumpster Another name for a garbage dumpster; the large rectangular wheeled garbage receptacle often found in alleys. AND SOMEDAY perhaps all of our poems will end up in the future Dipsty Dumpster of Poetry. (c0nt.)
So sad. What we consider treasures may just be trash to those who follow. This poem really makes you think. Thanks for posting.
