Breaking Away From The Mundane Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Breaking Away From The Mundane

Cloudy day, waking up, getting ready for the day, today
having blood drawn, doctors trying to stem problems be-
fore they can get any worse.

Breaking away from the mundane, looking for the extra-
ordinary in this earthly world, living an existence that
gives so much pleasure in large amounts.

Even when going through suffering, hardship, abandonment
and loss; picking up a pen, writing poetry immediately
lifts this poet's spirits.

Taking everything and writing it out to the universe,
being freed of all of it, the best gift in this temporary
world today.
