Broken Heart Poem by Lucifera Santez

Broken Heart

Castigation it was
A grave offendous sin
To be wanted, to be loved,
To have a soul that felt
And heart which beat
Its tethering terrifying thump
Banished I was,
An outlaw, a rebel
Fallen, a sinner
Because I loved, I cared
A burden I carry
They call it love
It burns, it soothes
And leaves my heart broken again
Can’t dissuade it,
Can’t accept it,
I just have to live with it
What a couple they are
A battered body and broken heart

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM

But after the bad experiences come a new invigorating one. Never worry. And your words here are very fitting to every scene I see. Nice.

Broken relationships are always very sad, especially when it is one-sided. But hearts can be mended in time. A lovely poem Lucifera.
