Caged Poem by Falana Zion

Caged

I lift my eyes beyond the hills
To see the world of my dream
I look beyond the rivers to the seas
To behold a world of peace

My sight fades without a gaze
Hope dries without a brace
Imagination rolls down the memory lane
For all I always see is a land trapped within a maze

Like the fowl without wings
We're tied to the ground
On a journey without border,
We are left to wander

Without the frolic fancy play
Without an attempt of beholding a gaze
We are shut within and without
Indeed, in here we're caged

However, the world of my dream,
Beyond the maze, bring forth a new moon
Let the shackles be loosed
For all to have the hope to dare to dream

Everyone's goal is to make the world a better place, I guess.
