Camp-Tivated Poem by Bernard F. Asuncion

Camp-Tivated

At night, city lights are incomparable
to your unblemished smile,
Those eyes that twinkle
as the star blinks.
You as a diminutive creature
that exists enormously
within my realm,
Lighting up all the dark
nooks of the horizon,
Taming the wild boar,
As you unleash your nature.
The wilds are afraid
to be captured by the soul
that wanes in gloom
though oozing in bloom.
Inspiring all your companions
through having fun
while hiking in the rough
and muddy track,
Which has brought warmth
to the freezing core.
As I take my path
there you are stepping on
the opposite side,
Where the twig snaps
and makes me realize
that we are not in the
same trail.
