Cheap Wine, Cheap Women - Poem by Tobey A. Anderson

Bukowski was right about one thing,
drink lots of cheap wine
it’s easier
than most women.

I find it odd
and fascinating
how some men so easily slip
into the role,
the duty,
follow the rules

and how some
stray willingly
or out of defect,
foul every free love offered
and destroy every garden
they walk in.

It has always been this way
I suppose
but I’d like to see some slightly
faster progress
by evolution
cuz time’s runnin out.

Cheap wine
is better than cheap women
any day
but perhaps more so
today.
