Chicken Lady Poem by Raj Dronamraju

Chicken Lady

Rating: 4.0

CHICKEN LADY

The chicken lady places each fillet so they are equidistant from each other
She arranges the chicken in an orderly fashion
Unlike other stalls where they dump bits of chicken out haphazardly on rusty metal counters

Anti-haphazard, late 50's or early 60's chicken lady
Bring my formidable premise to ground
Call her the night before so she can have your order already prepared and ready to go when you arrive

Always the first to close in the afternoon
Always the first to clear out her stock
I would imagine a market of such consequence where a chicken lady commands great respect

I imagine a market of such consequence, they feed the masses but the masses are just the neighborhood and people who live in the area
