You're like that friend
That comes once every other moon.
When you leave it seems like you're
Gone for a lifetime.
But when you come back.
It's like nothing has happened.
Whether you're here or not.
I still revisit the memories
I have of you from the last time
You've come back.
You're that friend that you just know.
One day you'll leave and not come back.
Just as straight-faced as saying bye.
You unpack a bunch of laughs.
Indulge in a new memory or two
then you're gone.
That one friend that would be the perfect
Sitcom neighbor.
Knows just what to say, comes from
Out of the blue, then leaves.
I still revisit the memories
I have of you from the last time
You've come back.
You may not come around that often.
But when you do,
We're all glad to see you.
And hear what's new with you.
A campfire.
No one wants to extinguish the flame of.
We just sit and enjoy.
As one day we all know that you'll leave
and not come back.
