Chocolate Patisserie (Croissant) Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Chocolate Patisserie (Croissant)

I refuse to leave, regardless the threat
Of utter embarrassment.
I too shed my clothes in desire.
The thought of flakey crust,
Molten chocolate kiss.
I've waited my place in line
And will not be denied by the naysayers
Of chocolate covered lips.
I've exchanged miniature trees
For a taste of life,
Soft & open
Free to breathe.
I love the way that she tastes,
The way that she feels against my lips.
I've splurged my heart in this recherche
Taste again and again.
My lips will march a thousand and one
By and large steps,
& a million more for all general purpose.
I refuse to leave, regardless the threat
Of utter embarrassment.
No matter how simple the question
Or crazy the stare.
I will not step to the side peacefully
And will gladly proclaim this love loudly.
The many miles I've danced on flakey crust
The countless times I've celebrated the eruption
of molten chocolate spewed from her tongue.
I won't settle for anything less
Starbucks attendant.
I'll gladly take all that you have
