Christmas Eve Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Christmas Eve

Rating: 5.0

Christmas Eve at midnight hour
Snow falls thick and fast
Away in stillness of the night
Comes faint jingling of bells.

Tucked warm and snug
Children sleep
Stockings hanging at foot of bed
Dreaming of Christmas presents.

Reindeer hooves are gleaming
As they pull a laden sledge
Reins held by jovial fat red-suited man
Much loved by all who know him.

Down chimneys he goes
Filling stockings with fruit and sweets
Piling presents beside each child's bed
Knowing the joy they will bring.

Smiling as he works
Eats a mince pie and drinks milk
Refreshments a child put out for him
And takes some apples for the reindeer.
