Christmas High Poem by Donna Nimmo

Christmas High

Rating: 5.0

I'm finding myself on a Christmas high
Lot's of loving family and I know that's why
People all around me, so full of cheer
Wanting to see me, is why they are here
Family all close in one house of love
And mother with me, from heaven above
Oh please don't let this great high leave
It will be back to my old self, where I will grieve
In that deep black hole I must not fall
Coming out will be such a slow crawl
I will fight hard to not let it in
I don't want to travel back to where I’ve been
Past is past, must keep it buried
For so many years, this pain I’ve carried
Going to make a New Years resolution this very year
Going to hold back old feelings, try to keep my mind clear!

WTG Donna. I'm with you, you keep your mind clear so you can see the happiness all around you. And if you do remember her, just remember all the good times you had. My mother is gone too, but I missed her terribly over these last holidays. May God be with you, and help you all year long. Happy New Year, Donna, to you and those whom you love. Barbara
