Sometimes we shut ourselves off
from the rest of the world.
Close doors that we shouldn’t do.
Turn away help from someone who cares,
stumble blindly around,
finding ourselves going nowhere.
Instead of grasping the hand,
that wants to help, we turn it away,
to find a better way
in the dark recesses of our mind,
but they are just closed doors
that bar our way, and leave us behind.
Interesting write david, very good and appealing as always. From a different perspective though and it's a fact, some people close doors and don't open them because there is NO hand on the other side and others stay behind them in fear of the hand that's out there dropping or hurting them again....Doesn't mean they close out life, just the parts that cause more pain then they have the strength to deal with ever again............. This is worth an ten and more but it took fifteen minutes after clicking on to leave a comment to get to this point and I'm not spending another ten waiting for the vote thing to turn and turn and turn...Been on over two hours, just to get in, post two poems and have only been able to read four. No more patience left for the bad management of this site, not today, not when since Wed. eve. I've only been able to get in for about an hour last night and then today...slower than a hundred turtles....love, marci.xo...[I don't know if I've missed others but can't deal to read more when PH just won't move, IF, you even get in....at least in my case....They've been notified by me and my brother in law who works and lives in Paris at present.....to no avail it seems..........]
Interesting thoughts D. I reckon the good thing about doors is that they can always be re-opened. t x
