from 'While Passing Through'/Summer
The clouds today
make me think of distances—
and how earth itself
is just a drop of dew
in the endless field of space.
Does this mean you've been having some rain? Lovely poem. The image of earth as a dew drop in space is beautiful. I shared it with my kids. Remember the Big Blue Marble Show? The earth's a big blue marble when you see it from up there. Both sun and moon declare, her beauty's very rare. Earth's a big blue marble in space.
Hey, Laurie! Glad you liked it enough to share- this makes me happy. No, no significant rain since late June. Mostly we've been teased as in my little poem Huge Dark Clouds. But the forecast calls for a good chance of it tomorrow and Monday- I've been praying. -Glen

Exceptional piece, Glenn. Very eastern in its succinct packaging of sweeping thoughts of grandeur. 'What is man, that thou consider him? '
i appreciate your praise, neal- thank you! this little poem basically reports the train of thought at that moment- the clouds directing my focus far off- and how far off can we go? - and how does earth with its clouds and water appear from that far off? yes, what/who are we that God is mindful of us? -glen
