Colourful Festival Poem by Kumarmani Mahakul

Colourful Festival

Colourful Festival (Holy Holi)

Holi is a festival of holiness, love and colour
It comes with much pleasure and cruller.

It is too a pleasant festival of Spring,
In all six seasons Spring is nice king.

With cuckoo's coo, new fruits and happiness behind,
Spring brings new leaves, flowers and pleasant wind.

Holi is a popular ancient festival of Colors of Indian people
This means to eternal and divine love expressing in steeple.

Holy means purity, truth, perfection and flawlessness,
It is observed with an aim to supra- without lawlessness.

Ho Li means in Hindi 'Ho gaya' means it has been finished,
So put full stop in the past events to get peace unfinished.

Further 'Ho Li 'means 'Mei Baba ka ho gai', it is sure,
In English 'I - Soul - have been merged with Supreme Soul as I am pure.

We may think H O means hate should be outed and L I means love in,
So, we must get out of the hate from heart and let love in in heart inn.

It is a festival of victory of good over evil,
A story is behind it how Prahalad escapes from devil.

Prahalad was the son of King Hiranyakashipu and was a devotee of God,
He was in truth, nonviolence, love and he respected others with nod.

This festival is observed by Sikhs, Jainas and other non Hindus with much pomp,
People spray different colours with love, dance, having party, eating and chomp.
