Colours Of The Sky Poem by Malabika Ray Choudhury

Colours Of The Sky

Rating: 5.0

This summer my one and only passion is gazing at the sky;
And try to paint the colours in my mind's eye!
The vast all-encompassing sky!
The gorgeous mysterious sky!
The sky at ruby-red dawn, the azure sky at early morning -
and the white clouds are floating in the canvas of a blue …like cotton-balls, or petals of Kash flowers,
or tiny sail-boats rocking in the middle of a gigantic deep ocean!

I can sit outside in my Muskoka lounge chair
and watch the clouds moving listlessly and changing their attire
all day long!

When the day gradually moves from dawn to dusk,
the sky gradually shows me all the colours of the universe!
Deep blue, and pristine white, tangerine and emerald, all get mixed up and intertwined in a playful riot of colours,
The dazzling pink in the west,
turns fiery golden,
when Sun, the Divine source of Life, is about to embark on his chariot driven by seven mighty horses,
and rest in his eternal abode to return the next day!

Hi Malabika, Wonderfully picturisqe narrative. An ode to the human mind enjoying the gay abandon of colours of nature, colours of life. Loved the way you have presented the skies from dawn to dusk. This is something which anybody can enjoy, sitting in the jharoka of our flat or house. We need not move out. But hardly anybody does. Loved the poem. Onto MyPoemList with a million tens..

Hello Dear Poet, I am so glad you are visiting my page! Canada is gorgeous in summer! Being a teacher, in July and August, I take the opportunity of spending time outside in the garden, and enjoy nature to the fullest! Thank you so much for being so kind in rating! Your comments are extremely valuable knowing you are a brilliant poet yourself!
