Comfort Me Poem by JoAnn McGrath

Comfort Me

Comfort Me

Comfort me just a little while
Stay with me and make me smile

Comfort me with your embrace
so all my fears are long erased

Comfort me with a gentle prayer
to show me that you really care

Comfort me let stress depart
Speak tenderly to my heart

Comfort me when I am lost
Calm the seas when I am tossed

Comfort me when I lose sight
Be my light in the dark of night

Comfort me in times of pain
Bring the sun after the rain

Comfort me a sorrowful soul
Love me constant and console

Comfort me so deep and serene
So I can give back what you gave to me

This is a poem written for someone trusted and loved. Very good work.

Almost sounds like a prayer. At first the concept sounds onesided, but in reality the love and comfort is returned as it is recieved. Nicely stated and well done.

JoAnn These are words of comfort, and comfort are what they are. To know that someone is out there whenever you need them. That is comforting my friend. Top marks and thanks for sharing them my friend. David

We all need comfort sometimes, JoJo, and this one's a cry from the heart. Lovely but sad...... Love, Fran xxx
