I've travelled my heart
far and wide,
followed tall tales
that my mind tried -
Heard that lonesome train
whistle blow,
through open windows
into my soul -
I've tasted water
turned to wine,
felt the wild wind
that blows every mind -
And found, no matter what I become,
no matter what I do,
it all, every last drop,
takes me right back to you -
I could go a million miles
or a million years,
could climb a mountain of courage
or fall in a pit of fear -
But none of it
would sever the fact,
right to you is always
where I'm coming back -
You are the final story
the hope, the light, the love,
the one the sun, moon and stars
eternally dream of -
That is why no matter how sad, low
sorry, afraid or alone,
I will always be coming back to you,
my forever home -
I usually don't care much for love poems, Smoky, but this one is very nice. I would put it one my favorites list, but it seems that Poem Hunter has taken that feature away!
Well penned Smoky. " I will always be coming back to you, my forever home-" Great poem. But, then again my friend. You are the master.
Absolutely the best declaration of love I have ever heard- -wow! ! whoever this poem is written to is one fortunate lady. 10+++++++++++ and onto my fav list so I will remember what a love letter from the heart is
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
Hey, Smoky! Spending some time this Sunday morning seeing what you've been up to. Just read this, and it seems like a song—could easily be a cowboy song sung by a lone voice with just a guitar. I especially like the images " mountain of courage" and " pit of fear" —strong contrasts. Now on to the other new postings I see. -Glen
