Beauty lies frozen within death's embrace
Coffin held, the four compass points of my life
Silent as stone, with eyes forever closed
Leaving me alone traveller without a soulmate.
Love had seeded my heart into wondrous flowering
Steadfast within stormy seas, strong, unyielding
An engaging truth which death could not deny
Reason and truth fulfilling the passing days
My hope and promise for each dawn's birth.
Death took my lover from me, my brightest star.
With dark grief making my soul its kingdom
With joy and moving time so cruelly stopped
No more stars, sun and moon bright in my universe.
For my lover was my morning, noon and night
Beat of heart, life's overwhelming happiness.
