COUNTING MY BLESSINGS….
(The Miracles in our life)

young people are oft clumsy,
was i then like that,
God sent me the right young man on my life path,
to become my life companion,

at that moment
he was looking for a girl
who knows the Dutch language very well,
because at that time there was
rarely a young girl who still speaks Dutch well,
(we were still in Indonesia)

during our marriage: like I said,
I'm kind of clumsy, maybe too spoiled,

in my prayers I often asked the Lord:
I really wanted a child, but not a girl,
because I can't sew clothes or dress her nicely,
my husband really wanted boys,

i have 3 boys in our marriage,
in their own time, matured,
our sons have been married one by one,
many years have flown,
our oldest daughter-in-law could not have children
and our second son was stillbachelor,

my dear husband asked me:
will Ferdie and Lam not want children
like so many couples today?

I have prayed about this many times,
only if You permit it, I always say to God.
My dear husband really wants to have grandchildren.

In my prayers I ask God, but I leave it to Him.

God has always richly blessed us,
and I'm thankful for that, God knows.

Two months after my husband asked me,
Lam told me she is pregnant
and it was also a Christmas present for us.

How sweet of Lam, and I am deeply moved
that this greatest desire of my husband
has also been answered by God
and He makes Lam give birth to a baby.

In this corona time, blessings on blessings,
we are very very happy,
and most grateful for all these greatest Wonders!

on last March 12 our second grandson was born,
just like our Vinhie, a baby-son sent by God....

I still thank God for all the blessings He has bestowed on us both...

Such a lovely poem! Most people today do not seem to be grateful for their blessings; indeed, many do not even believe in God, so why should they thank Him for anything? Thank you, Sylvia, for posting this excellent poem of gratitude!
