Crazy As It Sounds Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Crazy As It Sounds

I called you today because
I remembered the last time we spoke,
You told me that you'd call me back
and you never did.
I remembered that I loved talking to
you.
I'd smile like a big ole kid and grin from
cheek to cheek.
But when you didn't call back
Those days turned into some of the
longest weeks
I've ever known.
I thought that you were letting me
down softly.
Considering all the time that's passed.
I called you today with every intention
to give you a piece of my mind.
To really tell you off and where you can
find yourself.
But when I heard your voice, I couldn't
help
But to smile and grin like a big ole kid.
Like nothing ever happened.
I called you today because life is too
short
To waste time on something so small.
I called you today because
What would've initially come out as
frustration and pain
Is as human as it sounds.
I called you today because
I miss you and just wanted to tell you
