Crocodile Tears Poem by jerry hughes

Crocodile Tears

'adieu the crocodile hunter'

It seems incongruous
this outpouring of sentimantality
over the death, by accident,
of one so-called celebrity, when
at the very moment hundreds of
children in Ethopia and Uganda,
died of curable illnesses or starvation.
Unknown and unreported.

Addendum: 'Death where is thy sting?

A controversial 'take' on the cult of celebrity. People came to blows about the rights and wrongs of Steve Irwin's death. I agree about though about the irony of the kids in Ethiopia and Uganda. But it's hard to be moved by statistics. If you showed them a picture with wild eyes, the whole world would be crying about them too. love, Allie xxxx

As a special assistance package the out-going Foreign Minister planned to send 1000 stingray to NW Africa. He thought they'd look good in the offshore waters... Bindi volunteered to go on her own - with a cast of 200... Rgds, Ivan
