Cruel Fate Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Cruel Fate

Cruel Fate

It was you
Who pushed me through?
Tough road and taught
How the front has to be fought!

Exactly forty-six years ago
You appeared as wind made gentle blow
From the first day, you showed an importance
For me, it was heavenly chance

You filled complete vacuum
Before that, life was completely dim
I had no control over my urges
You came as big surprise

I was simple soldier
But eager
And knowledge-hungry
You made all of us very happy

Your simple way of handling matter
Impressed the younger as well as elders
You left no room for complaint
And serenely maintained

I whip silently in the corner
Shed some tears
And sink into memory
As you were taken away by an almighty

I was upset
But took it as bad luck or fate
Some courses are not in our hand
And we have to accept the dead end
